Mobile lockscreen platform Buzzvil (co-CEOs Lee Gwan-woo, Lee Young-ho) has signed a strategic partnership with LG U-Plus – one of the top 3 telecommunication player in Korea, and launched a mobile lockscreen service.
This service pays users reward points in exchange for receiving advertisements and content on the lockscreen – the first screen of mobile, and provides a function to discount their LG U-Plus communications fees or charge their data plan by the accumulated reward amount. In addition, in order to more easily run the barcode which must be presented when using membership points at partner locations, the barcode was placed on the lockscreen, greatly improving user experience and involvement.
A spokesperson from LG U-Plus stated that “they are even more focused on user convenience by recently launching the integrated ‘U+ Members’ app which allows communications fee discounts, membership point accumulation and usage all in one app” and that “through this partnership with Buzzvil we believe that we will be able to provide even more benefits to LG U-Plus customers”.
Furthermore, through this strategic partnership, LG U-Plus is of the position that they will be providing a more stable service by utilizing ‘BuzzScreen’, the lockscreen advertising solution provided by Buzzvil. In addition, they are currently actively cooperating to realize future differentiated services together with Buzzvil.
