Buzzvil People took the opportunity to introduce each Buzzvillians with a variety of backgrounds, personality, and thoughts. If you are wondering how best colleagues in Buzzvil are gathering to create the best team, if you are curious about each of the colorful Buzzvillians, please pay attention to Buzzvil People.
1. Please give us a quick introduction of yourself.
When I’m not helping advertisers use the lockscreen to promote their brands, I’m trying to keep an active lifestyle in NYC. From riding a bike to work, to trying to get into the gym right after (it’s either gym or drinks :)), I’m always on the move somehow. During the winter, I try to get out onto the slopes to do as much skiing as possible or I’m going on hikes with my chubby bulldog leading the way (he doesn’t do well in that summer heat). In the summer you can find me going on runs, playing basketball, or battling NYC traffic on the way to crowded beaches. I like to say that I love traveling, but really, who doesn’t love vacations! Apart from that, I believe in spending time with good people that know how to have a good time.
2. What brings you to Buzzvil?
I joined Slidejoy as one of it’s first hires, coming from the agency world and working on clients such as LG, Dyson, Jaguar/Land Rover and more. From my first meeting with their team, I saw how the lockscreen is an important part of any person’s day and can be an amazing opportunity for brands to connect with their likeliest consumers in an environment that breaks through all that other clutter. Almost 2 years later, I had the pleasure of meeting the Buzzvil team on our way to getting acquired and I haven’t looked back since. Being from opposite sides of the world can pose challenges, but it’s much easier when you’re working with a team whose values and beliefs align with yours. From our first meeting/outing, I realized these people aligned with my last statement in question 1 - good people that know how to have a good time. Oh, and they’re pretty smart and work very hard :)
3. What is your role at Buzzvil?
I handle all US direct revenue for Buzzvil, which means educating the US market on lockscreen advertising, finding brands that can truly benefit from this type of platform, and helping those brands put together a strategy that will deliver results. In my time here, we’ve been working with dozens of advertisers, including some amazing brands such as NBC, Dell, Stash Invest, Sling TV, the FDA, T-Mobile, and many more.
4. How does it feel to work at a startup? or advertising industry?
I truly believe the word “startup” is the most overused word in business. I consider ourselves as a company. That said, I always knew I wanted to work at a company where I could help build processes, structure go-to-market strategies, and, ultimately, see my daily work actually affect the bottom line. In terms of advertising, I love the basis of the industry but can sometimes get frustrated by the amount of fraud or even just “sales jargon” that clouds this great space. This was one of the reasons I fell in love with Buzzvil’s straightforward offering.
5. Is there something that you can say “this is the best part being Buzzvillians”?
The best part of being a Buzzvillian is working with people that truly care about the company’s success. It’s amazing to see people come together every time any issue arises, being able to trust the people you work with to get the job done, and get it done right. Beyond an environment based on work ethic, which always makes me want to rise to a new bar, these are people I love getting together with. For the third time, these are really good people that know how to have a good time!
6. Do you have a personal goal or dream? If so, how does your experience at Buzzvil help you?
Being in sales, I have my own personal revenue goals that I always try to push well beyond what’s written out in a quarterly review. I always think of being a salesperson as being your own company, that has a very exclusive partnership with the company you work for. Luckily for me, Buzzvil has given me an amazing platform that helps me achieve these goals, which consistently helps me expand and grow what my future goals are.
